The foam we use is water-blown and has zero global warming potential. There is no HCFC-245a blowing agent to off-gas from the foam during or after installation. Many of our competitors use "245a foams" which are potentially harmful to the environment and your indoor air quality. In addition, our foam is VOC Free. The U.S. Green Building Council endorses products that do not contain Volatile Organic Compounds. OPEN-CELL
Open-cell spray foam has tiny cells of foam that are not completely closed. These broken cells fill with air, hence occupying all the “open” space inside the material. These open cells make the foam weaker or softer feeling than closed-cell foam. The low density nature of open-cell spray foam allows for tremendous yield while still affording critical air sealing of the home, office space or classroom – resulting in better air quality and an increased comfort for building occupants.
Open-cell foam technology expands 120 times its original volume, sealing all voids, gaps and crevices. Open-cell spray foam insulation is a perfect fit to fill cavities of any shape, providing a continuous, protective air barrier that virtually eliminates air leakage.

CLOSED-CELL
Closed-cell spray foam differs from its open-cell counterpart in that all of its tiny foam cells are closed and packed tightly together. They are filled with a gas that helps the foam rise and expand to become a greater insulator. These cells can be formulated to obtain many characteristics, the most common being size and density.
Closed-cell foam has one of the highest R-Values, (6.9) per inch, of any insulation, a significantly higher value than found in other common insulations such as fiberglass and cellulose.
Closed-Cell foam limits the migration of moisture and also reduces moisture condensation within the building walls and roof, providing a tight seal that keeps pollens and allergens out. The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has estimated that indoor pollution can be up to 5 times worse than outdoor pollution, so combining a good ventilation package with spray foam technology can lead to a healthier home environment.
